Our quote this week is "Do everything with a good heart and expect nothing in return, and you will never be disappointed." -Barbara Lowe

Thank you to Ms. Martell for sharing one of her favorite quotes.

The logistics of lunch and recess has recently changed. Each grade level (currently grades 4 & 5) have been split. Three classes per grade level are eating together while the remaining classes are outside having recess. At the conclusion of lunch/recess, the children switch.

By conducting lunch/recess in this manner, we have drastically reduced the student to adult ratio. Additionally, children who purchase lunch now have significantly more time to get their lunch and eat. As the winter season begins, this will also aid in having indoor recess and recess held on the side of the building less crowded for the children.

I have gone into all 4th and 5th-grade classrooms this week to explain the need for the change so they understand why the change had to occur. In addition, I assured them we will be rotating classrooms every few weeks so they are able to play with the friends they may not be eating/playing with currently.

Visit the Lost and Found

Our lost and found is almost full. Please ask your children to check the bin for lost items. During conferences lost and found items will be displayed on a table in the main hallway. Items not claimed will be donated.

I am happy to meet with any member of the community! Should you like to discuss questions, concerns, or any matter, please contact Ms. Melissa Johnson at 973-292-2250 ext. 6550 to schedule an appointment.

Nurse's Corner- Ms. Ruta

It’s the season of sharing, but we don’t want to share the flu. Here are a few things you can do to help us keep a healthier school environment:

· Teach your children to wash their hands often,

· Teach your children not to share personal items like drinks and food,

· Teach your children to cough and sneeze into their arm or sleeve when

a tissue isn’t handy,

· Know the signs and symptoms of flu (fever, cough, sore throat, runny/stuffy nose, body aches,

a headache and feeling very tired. Some people may also have vomiting or diarrhea),

· Keep sick children at home.
