This Week at Berryton...
Today we had our Spelling Bee and each classroom had contestants in grades 4,5 and 6. Our students did a fantastic job of speaking clearly and spelling words in front of their peers and members of the community. Our winner is Riley Kuhlman, 4th grader and our alternate for the building is Julianna Byers, fifth graders. Congratulations to all of our spellers.
Wishing each of you a great weekend,
Mrs. Bervert
Notes from Mrs. Robertson
We are starting the new year off in PE by celebrating how we are physically active outside of school. Check the visual above for more information.
Last quarter we fine-tuned our throwing and catching skills, explored net and wall activities and learned games from different cultures. We really enjoyed "Run Away Rabbit" from Turkey, "Kei-Doro" from Japan and "Kho Kho" from India.
This quarter students will focus on cooperative games, fitness and movement skills, and target games. Our 5th and 6th graders will also get to experience our new archery equipment provided by a grant and PTO.
A few reminders:
- Tennis shoes are a must to keep safe (extras are provided if students forget- but they take time to apply).
- Student injured or feeling unwell? Send a note so I can help keep them safe.
- Water bottles are always welcomed.
