March 2021


Welcome to our first Scholarship News! This will be a monthly publication that contains information about scholarships with upcoming deadlines within the next month or two, with monthly updates to keep your scholarship list going! Some of these scholarships will be shared with us via email, mail, or even walk-in delivery and you may not be able to find them through internet searches. Other scholarships will be shared from things we find on the internet. That is why we feel it is important to share this newsletter with you as a supplement to your scholarship search!

The WHS Counseling Website

The WHS Counseling website is a great resource for your scholarship search. Visit https://www.wasatchhighcounseling.com/paying-for-college.html for information related to scholarships and financial aid. Get directly connected to the colleges' scholarship pages, internet search engines, and other scholarship opportunities.

March Scholarship Lists

Here are a few lists of scholarships with deadlines coming up in March. Please note these scholarships have not been screened and are usually from lists found on the internet.



Scholarships for Utah Residents

Paying for College Resources for Undocumented Students

Have you heard of the "Dreamers RoadMap" app? It is an app full of scholarships for undocumented students. Download it now on IOS app store or Android google play store. It is a great place to start searching for scholarships if you are an undocumented student. Check out the newsletter every month for more resources coming!

Host a blood drive, get a scholarship???

The Red Cross is looking for help from students in facilitating local blood drives! The normally scheduled high school blood drives are canceled this Fall as schools have adjusted their schedules. If you are interested in scholarships or volunteer hours, this is a great opportunity. Benefits include:

  • Earn a $50 Visa gift card
  • Earn a chance at a $1000 scholarship
  • Get volunteer hours
  • Earn a red cord for graduation
  • Help the community

Young Humanitarian Award

There are three weeks left to apply for the 2021 Youthlinc Utah Young Humanitarian Award!

This Award recognizes service-minded Utah high school juniors and seniors and undergraduate students with a $22,000 in college scholarship awards.

Application deadline: Monday, March 1, 2021

To apply: Visit www.youthlinc.org and review the requirements on the Young Humanitarian Award webpage.

In addition, any student committed to attending the University of Utah will receive a matching scholarship from the University Union Scholarship Fund managed by the A. Ray Olpin University Union Building

ACLU Scholarship

2021 ACLU of Utah Youth Activist Scholarship. 2021 will be the 14th year that the ACLU of Utah will award scholarships to eligible college-bound Utah high school seniors who have demonstrated a strong commitment to civil liberties through some form of activism. We will offer four scholarships of $3,500 each for a total of $14,000 in scholarships awarded. The deadline to submit an application is Monday, March 22, 2021.

We are working with UHEAA this year and have added the application to the Complete Scholarship website.



Students can complete the application and recommendations through the above link and submit them through the Complete Scholarship portal (students do need to create a profile before applying).
