The Treasure Coast Technical College Ribbon Cutting Ceremony was a success! Over 100 people from all over the county attended the program and were able to tour the campus. Teachers were available in their classrooms to show our guests around and answer questions. Our new industrial trades building was swarming with guests who were anxious to learn about virtual welding and see the new construction and welding bays; some of them even tried their hand at virtual welding! Thank you, to our community for all of your support in this endeavor! We are excited to be able to offer this educational opportunity to Indian River County.

Joan Martinelli, science teacher at Storm Grove Middle School, was selected as one of twelve participants in the Commissioner’s 2018-2019 Agriscience Education Leadership Program. More than twenty highly qualified candidates were nominated for participation in this year’s program and the selected candidates represent a wide range of geographical location, school/county demographics, as well as a blend of administration, agriculture and science teachers. The Agriscience Education Leadership Program helps agriscience teachers, science teachers, and administrators improve their agriscience programs and provide in-depth agricultural education experiences for students. Participants will expand their curriculum to include many Florida agriculture industry sectors, which widens our students’ foundations and broadens their understanding of economic and professional development options.
