Mrs. Murphy's Music Update!

Hey students! I’m excited to keep learning with you, even if we can’t be in building together quite yet. This week in music, K-2 will be exploring some optional jazz activities, and 3-5 will be exploring the music of South Africa. Visit my website (https://murphyc6.wixsite.com/endeavourmusic), click on your grade-level, and have fun exploring the links! You can even open and print a few optional enrichment worksheets if you want.

4th Grade Info from Ms. Caulton:

I look forward to seeing all of you again soon! In the meantime, if you would like to continue with our recorder unit, my website has links to our Recorder Karate curriculum. My website links to sheet music and a YouTube channel with step-by-step instruction for each song:

Quavermusic has additional recorder songs that supplement our curriculum. Library Department - Mrs. Skosky

The Library Misses You!

Endeavour Jaguars, I have really missed seeing you in the library! I hope you were able to enjoy some books from the school library and the KCLS library before it closed. My library highlight for this week is on accessing KCLS ebooks and audiobooks in case you are running out of good books to read!

King County Library System Student Accounts

Did you know all Issaquah students have digital library cards connected to their student ID number? Student's student ID number is the number they use for Clever and is unique to each student. If you and your child are not sure what your student's number is, it can be found on Skyward. Below are instructions for finding ebooks and audiobooks from KCLS. These resources are digital and are checked out to students for 21 days. They will then be automatically returned to KCLS so there is no need to worry about overdue books or fines! Please reach out to me via email (skoskyl@issaquah.wednet.edu) if you have any questions or problems accessing.

Step 1:

Click on the link above! Feel free to bookmark this page for future use.

Step 2:

Scroll down and click on the second box titled: eBooks and Downloadable Audiobooks for Kids

Step 3:

Look around for what you want to check out! Once you have found a book that you want to borrow, select it and then press "Borrow". This will prompt you to log in. You can also log in prior to finding a book to borrow by clicking on the orange "Sign in" button from the Kids page.

Step 4:

Logging in! This has been the tricky part for students when we have done this in library.

The Library Card = 411 and then the students ID number - all together (i.e. 4117654321)

PIN = the last four digits of the students ID number -Using the example above that would be = 4321

Tips and Tricks:

Once logged in, you can check out up to 25 books at a time! Students can also put a book on hold if it is not available, but will need to put in an email address for this option to work. Students are allowed to put up to 25 books on hold as well! That is 50 books total ya'll!

Under "Collections", click on "No wait, No problems" to filter results to only show you books that are available now.

Use your browsers back button to go back to a previous web page. Pressing the "Back to Main Collection" arrow in the upper left corner will take you all the way back to the KCLS homepage and out of the Kids section.

If using an iPad or Kindle, you will need to download the Overdrive app. eBooks can also be accessed by reading in a web browser or can be sent directly to your kindle when you link your accounts. Audiobooks will need to be downloaded in the Overdrive app.

Thanks for Reading!

Please email the specialist teacher directly with any questions or concerns.

Look for another newsletter update next week!
