Growing hearts and minds for a better today and tomorrow: every day, every way, every one.
Principal's Messages
Dear Hiawatha Families,
Thank you to everyone who came out for the parade yesterday. It was such a moment of pure joy for us all. The smiles, tears, waves, signs, and beautiful Hiawatha faces is exactly what we all needed.
We hope you and your family enjoy next week. The faculty and staff have been working so hard over the last 4 weeks and are looking forward to unplugging and truly enjoying some well-deserved time off.
Take great care and be well,
Katherine

Four Winds Update!
In an effort to continue fulfilling our mission and our commitment to our schools, Four Winds has been putting together some family-friendly nature-based teaching resources.
We’ve created mini-explorations framed around the different topics we had hoped to explore together in the Four Winds Nature Program.
Here is a link to the suggestions for kids and families for the Buzz on Bees workshop we were scheduled to do in May.
I can send along another Structure Function unit, Daunting Defenses - if you are interested.
The outline includes several days’ worth of nature-based learning suggestions for kids and families to do together. Some activities have downloadable materials or online resources, so folks can visit those as needed to get started.
We'd love to get your feedback on these units! So please send us your thoughts and suggestions.
Please share this with your volunteers. I will miss seeing all of them in person until we meet again AND please share with the principal and classroom teachers at your school so they can share with all their students and/or include in their distant learning plans.
To assist them, I’m attaching the teacher resource page for the Buzz on Bees Nearby Nature unit.
Be well and enjoy learning outside with your family!
With joy and wonder,
Deb
