SHISD Mid-Week Message

Weekly Superintendent's Message for Spring Hill ISD

Choose Kindness

Panther Nation,

The holiday season is in full swing and there is a new movie out called "Wonder". The movie (and the book it's based on) offers a great story on acceptance, empathy, and kindness. One of the main points of the movie is to be kind. It is a life lesson that reaches far beyond the story and one that should be practiced, especially during the Christmas season.

As a result of the movie, a movement has started to encourage everyone to focus on random acts of kindness. This is a great idea. When you think about how difficult school is socially for several of our students, a little bit of kindness can go a long way. The holiday season can also be a tough time for families that are struggling for one reason or another. I would like to encourage all of us to focus on kindness this month, but let's not be random. Let's work intentionally and with a purpose to focus on kindness to our students and each other.

Have a great week!

~ Steve Snell

Pilgrim Day - 2nd Grade

Intermediate Career Day

Junior High Culinary Arts

The Junior High Culinary Arts program was invited by Mrs. Pleasant to provide sweet treats for Parent Night at the Primary Book Fair on Monday. Culinary students baked over 10 dozen cookies in six varieties. We had four different recipes going at the same time in the Culinary Lab. Working in teams, they monitored each other's work and did a fantastic job. I'm so proud of what they've learned, how they are applying it, and how well they work together. Great job Panther chefs! - S. England

Junior High Metal Shop

Junior High Metal Shop class finished their projects before Thanksgiving. They made iron pumpkins. Great job boys, and thank you Mr. Fuller for all of your help and expertise.
