Glenn Public School

Superintendent's Nest

May is here, which means we are counting down the days until summer break! The next several weeks will still be jam-packed with learning. Please help your child be prepared each day by getting plenty of rest, eating a healthy breakfast, and packing a nutritious lunch along with a water bottle. Also, please check the weather so your child is prepared with rain boots, sunscreen, a hat, etc. We live in Michigan, and the weather changes quickly, so layers are recommended.

Wednesday, May 17th, we will have CPR/First Aid training available for $25.00 at Glenn School from 5:30-8:30 pm. The instructor will provide Heartsaver Cards to those who complete the course, which is good for two years. We are offering a FREE meal along with daycare this evening for participants. Please let me know if you would like to attend.

Glenn School is proud to announce the three recipients of the Outstanding People for Education award: Jenna Stivers, Alyssa Lamb, and Angela Crum. They were each nominated by current students at Glenn who wrote why they deserve this award. They will be honored at the end of the month, along with the other recipients from Allegan County at a dinner. Congratulations!

The Giving Tree this month is receiving cereal Monday-Friday 7:00 am-5:30 pm. We are collecting for the Allegan County Community Foundation, which Ladders of Hope in Fennville will receive our donations. We are excited to work with these organizations again. The cereal donations will help families, particularly this summer when their children are home from school. My goal is 35 boxes of cereal we can donate. If you would like to donate financially, you may also do so.

Teacher Appreciation Week is May 8th-12th. The PTC has daily gifts/treats planned for the week, as do I. Thank you to all the teachers and staff at Glenn School who make this school so special. You have touched the lives of so many youth!

Get outside and enjoy a walk together or read a good book under a tree.

Sincerely,

Ms. Jamie Walle
