Good morning, everyone!
Here we are jumping in to LP2, and closer to the fall season, and for that, I cannot WAIT! Please read over the information below carefully, and let me know if you have any questions.
Dates to Remember/Things to Do:
- Please mark LP1 attendance TODAY if you have not done so yet! See my email from Friday with directions, if needed.
- Sept 29 - LP2 work sample due (language arts for TK-8th)
- Oct 3-10 - LP2 meetings over Zoom
- Oct 13- end of LP2, attendance due by noon!
LP2 Work Samples
Our LP2 work sample will be Language Arts. Student writing of some sort is preferred for this subject. Texting me a screenshot or emailing a pdf, whatever's easiest for you is totally fine. Please make sure the following are included on the work sample:
- Student first and last name (they must write their own name- for TK/K, you may write their last name)
- Date the assignment was completed (Between 9/15/23 and 10/13/23- please make sure it's a school day- Saturdays, Sundays and any holidays won't be accepted)
- Subject (Language Arts this time)
- A grade from you (TK-3rd grade can be a star or happy face, 4th-12th grade must be a percentage, letter grade, or ratio)
*Remember, this must be a sample of student's best work!
Thinking Maps- the Double Bubble Map
Have you ever been very frustrating with comparing/contrasting in a Venn Diagram? That's because it was never intended for this, and was supposed to be used for math! The double bubble map is a GREAT way to have students compare and contrast stories, characters, etc. A fun example might be comparing and contrasting 2 versions of the same story, such as the Three Little Pigs. Below is a science example. Let me know if you would like more ideas and support on this at our LP2 meeting!
