Language Arts:
Students will recognize characteristics of folktales and fables in order to maintain meaning. This unit focuses on:
Author’s purpose
Retelling main events
Students will build phonological skills in order to develop their writing.
Math:
Students generate a set using concrete and pictorial models that represents a number that is more than, less than, and equal to a given number up to 20. Students compare sets of objects up to at least 20 in each set using comparative language.
Homework:
Due Friday 10/18
Make a list of all of the names of people at your home. Compare the length of all of the names. Circle the name with the most letters. Tell how many more letters there are in the longest name compared to the shortest name.
October 21 - 25
Language Arts:
Students will describe problem and resolution in order to identify plot development.
Students will recognize characteristics of fairy tales in order to maintain meaning.
Math:
Students generate a number that is one more than or one less than another number up to at least 20.
Homework:
Due on Friday 10/25
Pick any book you have at home. After reading please draw and label the characters and setting of the story. There will be a sheet sent home to use with this assignment on Monday, October 21st.
