Message from the Principal

Greetings Dealey Parents!

I can't believe we are already half way through the 4th six weeks. Spring Break will be here before we know it.
As we move through the month of February, we will be wrapping up the application process for incoming students and of course, completing our applications for Blue Ribbon.
See below for more information and updates about our school.
Thanks for all you do!

Meet Coach P ~ Shannon Parengkuan

Hi! My name is Shannon Parengkuan and I am the new PE teacher at Dealey. I go by Coach P. for short. I am so happy to be teaching here with Coach C. and have received such a warm welcome from the faculty, staff and students. I could not have asked for a better school to be apart of. I was born and raised on Long Island in New York and went to college at Towson University in Maryland. While I was there, I studied Physical Education/Teacher Education. Physical Education is my passion and I truly believe in teaching the students how to stay healthy for a lifetime. I moved to Texas three years ago with my husband and first son. We were blessed with another little boy last December. I have been teaching for 10 years in various settings. Most recently, at an International Baccalaureate charter school in McKinney. I am excited to be a part of this great school and welcoming community.

The district allocated a second PE teacher to our campus officially in December to help assist with the high class numbers and assist Coach Connaughton.

Coach P and Coach Connaughton will co-teach each class at Dealey, but we will officiall assign Coach P as the teacher of record for grades PK - 3 and Coach Connaughton will remain the official teacher of record for grades 4 - 8.

Welcome to Dealey, Coach P!

Blue Ribbon School Nomination - BOTH SCHOOLS!

Dealey Montessori and International Academy received two of the three nominations for DISD schools this month. We are very excited about the possibility of receiving this recognition, and will need to start working on our application ASAP. We will need a lot of assistance completing the application. Applications are due on Friday, March 4th.

What an exciting time for Dealey!

A Visit from the Superintendent

On Wednesday, January 13, Dr. Hinojosa, stopped by for a surprise visit. He was only here for a brief period of time, but we were able to walk each hallway and discuss many of the great things happening at Dealey. He spoke with several staff members, a few parents, and a handful of students. He was very pleased with the things he saw during his visit.
