Andrea Conner, BHS Principal

Hello Bulldog Families.

We are certainly moving through the third quarter with only three weeks left! March 9 is the last day, so please encourage your student to check grades and make sure all work is completed. As March and April approaches, students often struggle staying focused with the beautiful weather, so it’s always a good idea to encourage them to remain diligent in their schoolwork.

Take a few minutes and scan the upcoming important dates to see which apply to you and/or your student. We have a lot happening throughout the next few months, so it’s important to help your student stay organized.

You will also notice that we have a link below to sign up for our final Parent/Teacher Conferences on March 7. These are scheduled from 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. to offer some options for our families who are traveling home from work.

We've also been communicating about our March 14 State-Funded ACT test for our juniors. I’ve linked in an article for you to review that covers the importance of demonstrating success on college readiness tests. What Exactly is College Readiness and Why Does It Matter?

Monday, February 20 is Presidents Day and school will not be in session. We will see everyone back on Tuesday, February 21. Have a wonderful three-day weekend.

In service to our Bulldogs.

  • If you have a student who is currently in 11th grade, BHS will be administering the state-administered ACT on March 14. This testing session is free for all families. In preparation, our teachers will be working with our 11th grade students to help them get ready for this important assessment. Research shows that the more times students take the assessment, the more comfortable they become with the test and score higher. Please click on this link to review national ACT testing dates and timelines: 2022-2023 National ACT Testing Dates. If you have any questions, please reach out to your student’s counselor.
  • All students who must take either prescription or over-the-counter medications at school must have proper documentation on file in the high school clinic. Students may not carry their own medications or take them throughout the school day without following proper procedures. If you have questions, please call the high school at 513-732-2341 and ask for the school nurse.
