- Hans Geiger worked with Ernest Rutherford and aided him in discovering the nucleus.
- Hans invented a device called the Geiger Counter which can detect and measure alpha particles, beta particles, and gamma rays.
- This counter is extrodinarily accurate and is still used today.
- Hans Geiger also worked breifly on the German atomic bomb project during WW2.
- After the creation of the counter around 1931, he took to studying cosmic rays.
