The book, Before I Fall by Lauren Oliver, is about how a girl, Sam Kingston, who dies but doesn't know it. She realizes that for a whole week she is stuck on that one day, which happens to be Valentines Day. During the week she is dead she realizes what surrounded her death, and what actually happened. Sam learned a lesson, she learned that your life doesn't flash before your eyes it eventually comes to you. She discovers all the things she could have lost so easily and to respect those things cause you don't know when you will need those things in life.­­­­­­­­­

About the Author

Lauren Oliver is an American writer that has written many books. Before I Fall was her first book. Her books are meant for middle grade people and young adults. She was born in Queens and raised in Westchester, New York, in a small town very similar to the one in Before I Fall. Her parents are both literature professors. When she was little she often made up stories, drew, painted, and danced around in costumes.

She is very creative and loves winter. She also loves to snowmobile and swim. Erin loves to listen to music when she reads and enjoys outdoors. She doesn't have any pets but she would like some. Her little brother, Colby, could have fallen.
