Traditions
every college has some wild and fabulous traditions. Here are 3 of A&M's
Howdy
A&M students like to make sure everyone feels welcome and at home. When they meet someone new, they use the phrase "howdy". They make sure no one feels like a stranger. Howdy is what helps make A&M one of the most friendly campuses! It is a great way to show Texan pride and be friendly.
Silver Taps
One of the most famous, and important traditions, silver taps is a way to hold a memorial service for those passed who have not graduated. On the first Tuesday of the month they mourn the passing of an aggie that passed. It is amazing how thoughtful this is. It is so respectful. this is a tradition Aggies hold dear to their hearts.
Replant
Aggie students had to cut down hundreds of trees for a bonfire in 1991. In 1994 aggies decided to replant hundreds of these trees. every year since, aggies have been planting trees to help our ecosystem. These trees are not only planted at A&M but at local parks, schools, and other areas.
