"Robbers" by Andreas Schroeder "Take the Money and Fly"

Getting Away!

The story I am going to be writing about in “Robbers” is called “Take the Money and Fly.” This story is about a man who had hijacked a plane in 1971 and his name was Cooper. The flight was Northwest Airlines Flight 305 and it was going to Seattle, Washington from Portland, Oregon. There were thirty-six passengers on board including two flight attendants and the pilots. He had called the flight attendant and told her to read a note that he had handed to her. She was in shock when she read it. It had read to give the man $200,000 in $20 bills and four parachutes and if he didn’t get what he wanted he would blow up the aircraft. The woman had thought the man was joking but she was wrong and she found out that she really was. The woman had went and called the pilot. The pilot calmly approached the scene. He had told the man that he will get what he wants and that just wait. The pilot also stated that they are running out of gas and that they have to make a stop. The man agreed. Later, the man had got what he wanted and he had sneaked aside and boom jump out of the plane with a parachute that was given to him. The pilot had got a sign that one of the airplane door had been opened during the flight and it had. The man had escaped! He had crashed into a forest and badly injured his leg. A man and woman had helped him and they had played in the casino. Copper had escaped a smart robbery!

JAMMING DOWN BELOW!

Why did I choose this song?

I think the song “Take the Money and Fly” is very suitable for this story because The story is about a robbery that is like a hijacker robs a plane and flies away which means uses a parachute and also this means he runs away! SO he takes the MONEY and RUNS! Or FLY! So, another way to describe this robbery would be to rob and escape or RUN AWAY!

Lyrics!

"Take The Money And Run"

This here's a story about Billy Joe and Bobbie Sue
Two young lovers with nothin' better to do
Than sit around the house, get high, and watch the tube
And here is what happened when they decided to cut loose

They headed down to, ooh, old El Paso
That's where they ran into a great big hassle
Billy Joe shot a man while robbing his castle
Bobbie Sue took the money and run

Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run

Billy Mack is a detective down in Texas
You know he knows just exactly what the facts is
He ain't gonna let those two escape justice
He makes his livin' off of the people's taxes

Bobbie Sue, whoa, whoa, she slipped away
Billy Joe caught up to her the very next day
They got the money, hey
You know they got away
They headed down south and they're still running today
Singin' go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
Go on take the money and run
