Question: What do you like doing on your spare time?
Answer: "In my spare time, I coach baseball. I coach travel AAU baseball for the CT Blue Jays. I played baseball in college and my position was catcher. I also enjoy watching baseball and football- I am a diehard NY Yankees and Giants fan. Baseball and football have been an outlet for me, majority of my life."
Question: What is your favorite middle school / childhood memory?
Answer: "My favorite memories from middle school was in my 8th grade social studies class. The teacher, Mr. Gozzo, was a former drill sergeant in the Marines. He was very animated and would physically act out many US history skits to further our understanding of the topic. Despite being animated and making students laugh, he never broke out of character."
Question: Who inspires you? Why?
Answer: "My grandmother has always been an inspiration to me. From a young age she was heavily involved in taking care of me. I truly admire her perseverance through tough times and her ability to overcome adversity as I try to take those qualities to my everyday life."

Meet Michael Hatzikostantis our Special Education Tecaher
Question: What is your favorite movie(s)/genre?
Answer: I was 9 years old when I saw Star Wars for the first time. From that day I was hooked not only to Star Wars and Star Trek, but all the possibilities that could possibly come from experimenting with ideas that came from the science fiction genre. Today we have cell phones, space exploration, computers, internet, etc because people took the initiative to ask important questions such as “what if”, dream big, work smarter and harder, and never give up. I hope this generation gets inspired to discover and develop a new generation of technologies, which will help the human race.
Question: Who inspires you? Why?
Answer: My parents inspire me as well as my wife. My parents came from Greece in 1967 during extreme poverty resulting from WWII and the Greek Civil War. They moved to this country with one luggage, $20.00, and a strong work ethic, and became United States citizens. My father worked hard and finally opened up his own business which I worked for 35 years. After the events of 2001 and beyond, the nature of the business changed. I began a new journey into the field of education. My wife inspired me to become the best possible teacher I can be for my students. I admire her just as much for her hard work each and every day. I use her as a motivation to try harder.
Question: DO you have a secret talent?
Answer: I am not sure if this qualifies as a secret talent, but I am a second degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do. I worked hard since the age of 12 to earn my black belt. I love working out and teaching the art to others. I hope to be able to create a Tae Kwon Do Club with appropriate approval in the near future here at GHAAMS.
