Druid Hills High School
Red Devil Reflections
Welcome Dr. Book
Thank You
Staff Development Day - Friday
I am working on room assignments as we speak. They should be completed by this afternoon. I will try my best to provide a heads-up to teachers whose classrooms will be impacted; however, I would recommend tidying up for company before you leave today if your classroom looks like my desk -- we will be needing numerous classrooms:)
Note: if your class is in the Science Building or first two floors of the Main, you are scheduled to have company tomorrow. There are also a few Math classes impacted. With that said, if there are additional course requests that come through, 3rd floor Main and the 500 Hall are next on the room list.
Pink Barre - This Friday
"Healthy Staff- Healthy Class," that's the theme our Parent/Community Engagement Liaison, Ms. Fatima used to negotiate a new partnership with Pink Barre, one of the newer shops at Emory Point. It is a total body workout combining core elements of Pilates, isometric strengthening, ballet, and yoga while using the ballet barre for support.
Pink Barre is opening their doors to Druid Hills area staff Friday, October 9 at 3 PM for a private FREE 30 minute class. Please arrive at least 15 minutes in advance.
This savings is HUGE! For Druid Hills area staff, the cost is $99/month for unlimited classes for eternity (just show ID). The regular one month unlimited cost is $225 ($150 for students).
We hope you will join us. Please sign-up via this link or send your name to Ms. Fatima so that we can have an accurate head-count. (Note: if you have already sign-up, no further action is necessary).
Parking is free in the deck for up to 3 hours. Participants are asked to bring socks (or they sell the sticky ones), and wear leggings or capris. Water fountains are available to fill your water bottles. Participants should arrive at least 10-15 minutes prior to class!
Building Hours - Friday and Monday
Monday: 7am - 2pm
Please note our normal building closers (custodial team) are working from 6am-2:30pm on both days.
From Mr. Roberts
If you have items located on the auditorium stage and you would like to retain those items please do so immediately.
In the next few weeks our goal is to remove everything from the auditorium stage that is nonessential based upon the cleaner's discretion.
Because the miscellaneous items currently there, the auditorium stage has been deemed a fire hazard.
During the holiday break (Columbus Day) the cleaning and the removal of the non- essentials will commence.
PTSA Teacher Grants
The grants can be for nearly anything that can be used in your classroom. Prior grants have included technology, books, equipment, storage, instructional materials; however, the only limits are your imagination (and requests for Professional Development opportunities).
Grade Posting - Action Required
SLO Tasks - Deadline extended - Action Required
By now, SLO pre-assessments should now be complete for all current students. Teachers are required to input the pre-assessment data into Infinite Campus.
1) An item analysis for all SLO pre-assessments should be saved as a .pdf. The .pdf needs to be uploaded in the SLO Assessment folder in the Data Room.
2) The pre-assessment score should be entered into IC using the SY15-16 Teacher Directions.
3) SLO post-assessments, given in December, will be administered through IDMS. After administration, teachers will, again, save the item analysis and enter the SLO score into IC.
