Insulin is a Winsulin
Too Much Glucose In the Blood?!
Have no fear! Insulin is here! Insulin helps regulate your glucose levels. Too much glucose? Insulin helps your cells, and your liver, take it right up. When insulin is released from the pancreas, it binds to receptors on a cell's surface. These receptors then recruit special proteins that pull glucose right on in. Now your cells have energy. Now you can do things. And who doesn't like doing things?
Still Not Convinced?
Well, you better be. Life without this hormone would be virtually impossible. Imagine having no energy to do anything... at all. Some people have this problem. It's called diabetes.
