BUDGET VOTE AND BOARD OF ELECTION ON TUESDAY, MAY 21
The proposed Webster CSD budget will go before our One Webster community for a vote on Tuesday, May 21, 6:00 a.m. - 9:00 p.m., at the Webster Schroeder High School gym, 875 Ridge Road. Along with the budget vote, there are six candidates running for three open board of education seats. Please note that Webster Central PTSA will host its annual Meet the Candidates Night on Wednesday, May 8, 6:30 p.m., at the Webster Schroeder High School library.
The next regular board of education meeting will be on Thursday, May 9, 6:30 p.m., at the Webster Schroeder High School library. This meeting includes a public hearing of the proposed $177,554,272 budget. As always, your attendance at board meetings is welcomed and encouraged. Following this message are important budget highlights of the proposed 2019-20 spending plan for our district.
WEBSTER CSD HOLDING SECOND MEETING OF FAMILIES OF COLOR GROUP
The second meeting of the district’s Families of Color group is upcoming. After a successful first gathering, the date for the next meeting is Monday, May 6 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at the Webster Recreation Center, 1350 Chiyoda Dr. (off of Phillips Rd.).
Over 30 interested community members, including parents and staff members, attended the first meeting in March. During this first gathering, attendees began to develop a collective vision of Webster’s future as it relates to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
The Webster Families of Color group’s mission is to bring together a strong collective of parents, concerned family members, and allies passionate about building a racially- and economically-just community. If you were unable to attend the March meeting and would like to come out in May, please feel free to attend on May 6th!

YEA! Saunders Scholars National Competition
Arianna M. and Bridget M., co-founders of Ninja Comics, have been selected to compete at the Saunders Scholars Competition, Friday, May 3rd at RIT.
The Pitch Competition is being streamed live Friday starting at 8:00 am. Congratulations & Arianna & Bridget!

State FBLA competition
Six SCHROEDER FBLA students competed at the State FBLA competition in Binghamton NY (April 10-12)
The State competition was comprised of 623 members from 56 chapters.
Our students were amazing! Congratulations Josh B., Bettina B., Adelyn C., Trey C., Felix H., and Ashley M.
Best of luck to our Schroeder FBLA members as they travel to San Antonio, Texas to compete at the NATIONAL FBLA competition June 29-July 2.

SparX made it to the Semi-finals in Alliance #2 with Teams 1551 and 5254 at R.I.T
Team Cougartech 2228 awarded SparX the 'Rising Rover' award
Penfield's team 1511 Rolling Thunder awarded SparX the 'Neil Armstrong/Buzz Aldrin' award
The SparX team 1126 made it to Quarterfinals in Alliance #8 with 2228 and 678 in Cleveland. It was a great season.
Staff Appreciation Luncheon - Message from PTSA
Please deliver your food donations to the Main Office before or at 9:00 am on Thursday, May 9th.
Water bottles, forks, plates, and napkins can be delivered any day before the event.
Please label all deliveries with "Staff Appreciation Luncheon."
Monetary donations are still being accepted & are greatly appreciated.

First Book program
In order to get these books distributed before the end of the year, WCPTSA is partnering with WTA to get books unpacked, sorted and organized by age group for delivery to all of our 11 schools.
If you'd be interested in volunteering to help on Saturday, May 18, please feel free to come to the Thomas Field House from 8am-12pm.
WTA will be providing light refreshments.
Seniors Planning to Attend MCC Next Fall!
MCC is offering a Registration and Advisement Day here at Webster Schroeder, Thursday, May 16. Please stop down to the counseling center to register.

You only have until Monday, May 6 to register up to NINE times to win a new Ford Fiesta or cash prizes!
Students may register for: passing quarterly report cards (one per quarter, quarters one through three); 0 unexcused absences and five or less tardies (one per quarter, quarters one through three); involvement in a school team or school sponsored club (one entry for 2018-19 school year); teacher recommendation for academic excellence (one entry for 2018-19 school year); and parent recommendation describing their child's efforts for academic excellence (one entry for 2018-19 school year).
