Principal Porter's Message
Great attendance is essential in order for your child to be successful in school. K-3 all begin their Reading Block at 9:00. When your child is tardy he/she misses out on core curriculum and disrupts the learning environment for the other classmates. Please read the information below on attendance.
Car rider numbers must be displayed when picking your child up from school. This is for the safety of your child. If you need a new number, then please contact the front office.

REPORTING ABSENCES
Parents should follow the absence reporting procedures outlined in your child's planner. Parents should call their child’s school to verify all absences. Parents should inform the school if their child is truant.
DEALING WITH TRUANCY AND EXCESSIVE ABSENCES
If your child is suspected of being truant or has been identified as having an excessive number of absences and/or tardies, you may be contacted by the staff of the Attendance Department. This contact may be by letter, phone, or a home visit. A conference may also need to be held with you to discuss the situation.
Students with severe ongoing attendance problems or repeated truancies may be referred to the:
Clark County Absence Review Panel,
Clark Superior 1 Probation Department or
Child Protective Services for possible action.
Actions may include meeting with the Clark County Absence Review Panel, suspension of a student’s drivers license or the ability to obtain one, termination of a work permit or the ability to obtain one, being placed on probation, or arrest.
Parents of these students may be referred to:
Child Protective Services (CPS),
the Clark County Absence Review Panel, or
the Clark County Prosecutor’s Office.
Parents can face charges through the Prosecutor’s Office, a CPS investigation, or reduction in their state aid.

Through the support of PRES families, friends and teachers, we had an amazing year fundraising last year and were able to purchase 24 mini iPads for the school. This year our goal is to purchase 12 more iPads and 12 Chromebooks for the school. We are well on our way to achieving this goal after the success of our Spirit Wear and City Saver fundraisers. Thank you for all of your support and help in providing new technology for the students to use.
