Fort Edward Elementary School
Happy holidays! We are pleased that so many parents and guardians were able to attend Parent Teacher Conferences just before Thanksgiving. This is an important opportunity to meet face-to-face with your child's teacher to facilitate communication between home and school. If you were not able to meet with your child's teacher during this time, you are welcome to email or call the teacher, and you are welcome to set up an appointment to meet with the teacher if you would like to do so.
Our last day of school before the Holiday Recess will be Friday, 12/20/19. Our students will enjoy two weeks of school break this year, and we will welcome them back to school on Monday, January 6, 2020. I hope everyone enjoys a restful and restorative holiday break!
Emergency School Closings
If school must be closed, delayed, or dismissed early, an announcement will be made as soon as possible on the radio and TV stations. A robo-call will go out as well, to inform each family of the school closing, delay, or early dismissal. Please discuss with your children exactly what they are supposed to do in the event of an unplanned dismissal.
Snow Plow Safety
A big thank you to Phil Spiezio and his crew from the Washington County Department of Public Safety for coming to our school and teaching the students about Snow Plow Safety. It is lots of fun to play in the snow, and now our students know to stay well away from the road and the plows while they are out.
PTO Winter Carnival and Craft Night
Bring the kids to a fun evening of winter themed crafts on Friday, December 13th, 6:30 - 8:00 PM. The PTO is hosting this event for all students and their parents. We hope you can come!
