Regional School District #12
Summer Reading Across the District
Reading recommendations, assignments, the Governor's Reading Challenge and more!
Primary School Students (K-5)
We encourage all of our Region 12 families to read together OFTEN this summer to create a sense of enjoyment, wonder, and a passion for reading. We also strongly recommend that students visit our region's public libraries and participate in the 2014 Connecticut summer library program, Fizz, Boom, Read!
Please visit our school library's summer reading web page for recommended reading lists, including those from the Governor's Reading Challenge.

Recommendations for Grades 9 -12
An SVS reading log will be collected from each student during advisory period on the first day of school. At that time, students will be asked to connect their books to one of the Shepaug Valley School's student learner outcomes in two brief essays. If possible, students should bring copies of their books and brief notes to their advisories.
