Notes from the desks of Mrs. Senior and Mrs. Mitchell September 12, 2022
Hello Ninja Nation,
Recently our entire elementary family had the chance to get together so of course we had to capture it in the above picture. We hope you all will enjoy seeing your student's teacher(s) both new and old. We are a bit biased, but we think this is the best elementary crew in the nation!
This week the teachers will all be on campus again to offer in person live lessons for any students that wish to participate. This Tuesday the 13 is going to be an amazing day of learning and fun. It is not too late to RSVP if you haven't yet. These opportunities only come once a month so this is your chance! RSVP LINK

Preparing Your Computer for FAST Testing
FAST testing for grades 3- 5 (to be scheduled with your student's teacher) will be starting this week through 9/21. Before testing we need your computer to take a quick test to make sure IT is ready for testing day. Please be sure to do this prior to testing.
FAST Testing - Mandatory for all Students
This is a progress monitoring assessment that will be given three times a year. It is a B.E.S.T. math and reading standards-aligned assessment that is adaptive, providing teachers, students, and families with information on student progress. For students in K-2, the test is called STAR and they will take this test remotely on a different testing platform than the 3-5 students. Teachers will be sending out detailed information about dates, times, and log-in information. Students are required to participate in this progress monitoring assessment. Results will be communicated within ten days of testing.

Ways to help your child do better on tests.
- Make sure your child gets a good night’s rest.
- Serve your child a healthy breakfast.
- Suggest that your child do deep breathing exercises to relax before the test begins.
- Tell your child to follow directions carefully, and ask questions if something is not clear.
- Remind your child to check over answers before turning in the test.
- Encourage wanting to do well, but stress that one test won’t measure all your child can do.
