Grade Level News
From Behind the Desk!
Hello Cimarron MS Families,
Hope this message finds you well! Since our last newsletter, we've had two remote days, thanks to the unpredictable Oklahoma weather. On a brighter note, I've heard whispers of 60-degree weather in the forecast!
Exciting times for our 8th graders (Class of 2028) as they gear up for freshman year preparations. Check out the counselor section in the 8th-grade newsletter by Mrs. Teresa Murray for more details.
In the upcoming weeks, we'll be connecting with our Class of 2029 (7th grade) and the Class of 2030 (6th grade) to discuss their schedule requests for the fall and spring semesters. The Class of 2031 (5th grade) will have their first visit on Tuesday, February 13th.
Don't forget to snag your Yearbook before prices go up by January 27th!
Looking ahead, we're thrilled about the upcoming author visit with Jennifer Nielson. Check below for details on ordering her book.
Lastly, Mrs. Ally Schreck has a Donors Choose to support teachers with document cameras and comfy seating for the Media Center or Ms. Harkness' classroom project.
Stay warm and informed!

Our social media feeds often include the latest challenges which can be a fun way for students and adults to feel connected with their community on social media. Depending on the challenge, they can also be dangerous or harmful. It is important for parents and families to be aware of what’s popular on social media so you can help your student navigate the positives and negatives of these trends. This month’s Smart Social tip includes information about social media challenges and some ideas for how to have these conversations with your students. To access this information, just click on this link: https://smartsocial.com/post/social-media-challenges?org=edmond
And, remember, if you haven’t signed up for Smart Social yet, EPS is providing this resource to all of our families for free for this school year. When you click the link, it’ll prompt you to sign up for your free EPS account. We hope you continue to find this information useful!
