Student Gallup Poll: 10/1 in ELA classes.
Parent/Guardian:
Gallup Education has more than 40 years of data and analytics in the field of education. For the last seven years, Pasco schools has participated in the Gallup Student Poll. As we continue our partnership with Gallup, our students in grades 5-12 will be invited to participate in the Gallup Student Poll during the survey window of September 27 through October 22.
This confidential and anonymous survey will ask questions in the areas of engagement, hope, belonging, and social and emotional learning. The survey questions will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
After the poll closes, Gallup will aggregate and analyze the results. Every participating school and district will receive a scorecard. This initiative will give us a wealth of specific and actionable information that will help us lead our schools.
If you have any questions, please call the Office for Accountability, Research, and Measurement at 813-794-2343.
Zoom Parent Teacher Conference Night September 30th 5pm-7pm
Lexia PowerUp - Reading Practice from Home!
Lexia PowerUp is an app found on your student's myPascoConnect Dashboard. Students are given goals each week for how much time they should be spending in each of three categories: Word Study, Grammar, & Comprehension.
Although students are regularly provided time in class to work on their goals, they could & should access PowerUp from home to continue working on meeting their weekly goals.
We encourage parents to ask their child about Lexia PowerUp and inquire about what their goal time is each week. Lexia PowerUp is accessible from any computer with Internet & during any time of day, and students are welcomed to put in some extra time toward their goal whenever possible. Students who meet their weekly time goal will be recognized and rewarded each week.
Parents, thank you for your continued support! To watch a video to explain how PowerUp works, click here: PowerUp Introduction Video

Parent Access with the PBIS Rewards Parent App
Imagine being able to extend positive behavior reinforcement beyond school grounds! With the PBIS Rewards Parent App, you can do just that. As part of the PBIS Rewards suite of apps, the free Parent App allows parents to view student point totals, the number of referrals (aka consequences), items purchased with points, and upcoming events for which points can be used. Through the app, you can communicate directly with your child's teachers and they can communicate with you too!

2021 - 2022 PE Waiver
Florida state legislation requires students in grades 6-8 to take at least one semester of physical education - PE each year. The legislation allows parents to waive the requirement if the student meets at least one of the following:
- The student is enrolled or required to enroll in a remedial course (waiver not required).
- The parent requests that the student enrolls in another elective course offered by the school at that grade level.
- The student is participating in equivalent physical activities outside of the school day.
***A student may still be assigned to PE unless there are documented health conditions & the waiver is completed.
Free and Reduced Meal Application
Currently, all 2021-2022 students will receive free breakfast and lunch regardless of eligibility. However, we strongly encourage you to complete the new free and reduced meal application, as schools receive a portion of their funding based on the percentage of students who qualify.
To review the eligibility guidelines and complete an application, please visit www.pascoschoolmeals.com.
