News from the Principal's Office
A&M Consolidated High School
Reflections from the week of September 21st
This past week, a couple of administrators and myself were fortunate to visit some of our students' homes. Our eyes were wide open on what we witnessed. We wanted so desperately to step in and teach these parents how to combat their passive mindset. Why would any parent be okay with a child not attending school? How come these students do not value the importance of an education? I found myself thinking about AMCHS and the power that each of you have. Our school is a safe haven for many of our students. Each of you have influence and power to be a beacon of light for others to see.
Additionally, we were blessed to read so many quality goals that our teachers wrote. Some of you expressed the desire to develop meaningful relationships with students, create relevant, engaging curriculum, identify struggling students, balance stress, collaborate with teachers from other campuses, and establish a healthy working environment to name a few goals. We applaud you for wanting to grow, and we will collaboratively work to help you meet the goals that you set. Thank you for being a difference maker and addressing areas that need to be strengthen.
You Matter!
