Week 1 is in the books!
Important Dates
On Fridays there will be no live instruction of WECC students. Instead teachers will have recorded lessons and work for students to complete in Seesaw. Our staff will be utilizing this time to record lessons for the upcoming week, collaborate and plan as a team, and attend professional development sessions.
Office Hours
The WECC office is open from 7:30-4:00 everyday.
Attendance
We recommend that students attend synchronous learning everyday if possible. If they cannot attend and must complete the asynchronous lesson they will still be marked present for the day. Please complete learning within 48 hours of posted date. A week of school actually runs for attendance purpose from Wednesday through Tuesday. Your child's teacher will update attendance weekly on Friday for the previous week. In order to allow some flexibility for families we are going to leave work that has yet to be complete up on your child's Seesaw account through the weekend. Every Monday all work not completed over the weekend from the previous week will be removed from your child's Seesaw account.
Q: My child attended the live lesson today in reading but not in math. Will they be marked absent?
A: Your child will be marked present for a.m. attendance but absent for p.m. attendance. It they are able to complete their math assignment within 48 hours then their absence will be turned into a present.
Q: What if my child cannot complete the asynchronous activity today but completes it tomorrow instead? Will they be counted as absent?
A: No, the student will be counted as present due to completing the task.
Q: My child did not attend the live learning or complete the activities today.
A: Your child will be marked absent. If you complete the assignment within 48 hours then your child will be marked present.
