TAC Visits Temporary Animal Care and Rehabilitation Center
TAC’s Animal Shelter and Environment Club visited the temporary animal shelter and rehabilitation center (Tarsus Animal Shelter) after school to deliver the wet and dry food purchased with the proceeds from the bake sale on campus. Photos of the animals were also taken by our students to be used in promoting the pet adoption drive.
During our conversation, Esra Biş, the chief veterinarian of the shelter, shared very useful information, which is below.
The shelter works in partnership with the university, Ahbap Platform, and Haykonfed.
The number to call to report any non-tagged, non-sterile animals, as well as sick and injured animals, to the Shelter is 0324 613 23 45.
Working with volunteers, the shelter also provides kennels for stray animals.
To report any mistreatment of animals, you can download the application called HAYDİ (Animal Condition Monitoring) (App Store) (Google Play) of the Ministry of Interior.
International German Olympics 2022
The aim of the International German Olympics (IDO) is to promote learning of the German language, to strengthen mutual understanding and tolerance, and to introduce to the participants the science and culture of Germany.
The International German Olympics (IDO), held biennially in Germany, is the world's largest competition for the German language. It is organized by the Goethe-Institut in cooperation with the International Association of German Teachers (IDV).
The top two participants from Turkey, who have passed the national pre-qualifications in A2 or B1 language levels, will qualify for the International German Olympics to be held in Hamburg between 3-7 August 2022 under the sponsorship of Goethe-Institut.
Encouraged by TAC’s German teachers, 11th grader Cem Yıldız joined the B1 level Olympics.
The Olympics consists of two stages and Cem, who passed the first stage as one of the 16 participants out of 43, will take a German exam on April 9 when the final stage will be held.
We wish Cem good luck at this stage of his participation.
Celebrating TAC Community Service through Music, Dance and Art
Traditional community service events of TAC have thankfully returned to campus with all its energy. We involved the young guests who we hosted on Wednesdays this week in a series of dance, art and music activities. They were introduced to Ponte the puppet in the rhythm workshop. In the German, French and Spanish workshops, they learned about colors and basic greetings. In the games, they enjoyed working in cooperation and a light competition. By the end of the dance workshop they were tired, but have learned the importance of moving in sync and both hosts and the guests had a chance to rest while chatting and eating the delicious waffles prepared by the Second Foreign Language department and served by 11-IB CAS students. We thank everyone who contributed to this meaningful service activity which is one of the distinguishing qualities of TAC.
