Message From the Principal
It has been very exciting to have some of our Sabercats return to campus this week. We have been working through some of the new processes and we will continue to support both our KVA and face to face families. Seeing your students on campus is a fresh reminder to everyone on staff for why we do the work that we commit to every day we set foot on campus.
Although the beginning of this school year is different from years past, I applaud your students for their ability to adjust to change and for spreading their positive and enthusiastic energy across our campus.
We wanted to extend our warmest invitation for you to consider joining our PTSA at Stockdick Junior High. Our PTSA provides programs and events to support our students, teachers, and parents. We would love for parents and students to become PTSA members. Please see the information below to join our PTSA.
A friendly reminder for the safety of your students. Keep in mind that our doors open at 8:30 a.m. Our first bell rings for students to go to class at 8:48 a.m. , and the tardy bell is at 8:55 a.m.
I know these are challenging times for everyone, but please know that we are here to support and serve in any way possible. Through the unknowns, please continue to be patient as we are all working together in the virtual /face to face learning environment.
I hope you are all having a great week!
Sincerely,
Dr. Ann Lalime

Attendance Information
Welcome to Stockdick Junior High! Below are some tips to help you and your student understand attendance.
Our first bell rings at 8:55a.m. In order for your student to be in class on time, we suggest your student be at school by 8:48 a.m. All students need to be in their seats ready to learn by 8:55a.m. If your student is late to class, they will receive a tardy pass.
If your student will be out, please call the attendance office at 281-234-2764 or email to claudiagomez@katyisd.org. In order to avoid those automated phone calls, please communicate any absences the morning they will be out. Any absences not reported will receive a letter from the attendance clerk upon their return.
A student is allowed 8 personal illness days per 6-month period. Any days beyond this number will require a doctor’s note. A doctor’s note is also required if your student will be out for 5 consecutive days.
When going to the doctor or the dentist, remind them to give you a school excuse and send it with your student upon their return to school. The student can turn it in to the front office or the attendance clerk. Please do not give it to the teacher.
In order for the student’s absence to excused, guardians must contact the attendance clerk. The absence will be considered unexcused if there is no communication with the attendance clerk.
Please remember only a legal guardian can pick up a student from school. Only during an emergency can an emergency contact pick up a student, and the parent must email the attendance clerk with information and copy of ID/DL.
Remember: The sign-out cut off time is 3:20 p.m. , students will go home according to their dismissal plan after 3:20 p.m.

These policies are designed to hold students accountable for completing quality work and handing work in on time.
