A few words from our Principal..
Dear Families,
Mr. Ryan Kearney, our Dean of Student Success, visited our Decisions Classes on Wednesday to engage in meaningful conversations with students involving the topics of racism and social media. Mr. Kearney and I recently attended an informative, faith-based workshop put on by Sophia Institute regarding Catholic based approaches to discussing these important topics. A main focus of these discussions will be the value of each person as a child of God. The purpose of our Decisions Classes is to help our students make well informed academic and life decisions. Over the weeks and months to come, we hope to engage in additional conversations with both parents and students regarding a number of important topics.
We are looking forward to offering some fun and engaging activities after school. Students will have the opportunity to indicate which after-school clubs and activities they are interested in via a survey. This will help us make informed decisions about club offerings.
Fall NWEA test scores are in. The Family Report was sent home with students on Tuesday. The Family Report is designed with families in mind. It contains performance data in the areas of Mathematics, Reading, Language. Please keep in mind that NWEA is just one data point we use to assess student growth. Our focus at St. Joseph Regional Jr. High School is supporting the growth of the whole person in academics, faith, and character. More information on the Family Report can be found here: https://www.nwea.org/blog/2019/sharing-assessment-data-with-parents-just-got-simpler/
a message from Mrs. Martineau
*Progress reports will be going home on Wednesday, November 30th. Since parents may check their student’s grades at any time on the parent portal of Renweb, the progress report will only update parents on the effort and conduct of their student in each class.
*The after school homework help room will now be available everyday. For the convenience of many students, homework help will be available on Friday to work on projects and other assignments. It will be dismissed at 3:15 like all other days.
*If your student received a 4, 5 or F on their report card, please be sure to ask for and sign their re-evaluation form. This form is due on Monday, November 21.

Student Council News:
Dear St. Joseph Families,
This is Student Council News. I am reporting news about things that are going to happen soon, and more news about the dance and raffle basket. There is also a new thing happening every month.
Raffle basket themes have already been selected by every homeroom. Students of that homeroom should bring in an item from that theme and place it in the basket. Raffle Baskets need to be ready by December 9th, 2022. There are more details about the dance. Student Council members should come to the school building at 5:45 PM on December 16th to help set up decorations. There is also going to be a lip-syncing competition for homerooms to participate in. Homerooms can do it solo or with a group. They will choose a song to try to lip-sync the best. There will be prizes. Soon, it will be Thanksgiving Break. The week after Thanksgiving break, the Reverse Advent Calendar and Door Decorating will begin. Finally, there will now be a themed dress down happening every month during school. Every month, a themed dress down will be chosen and students will be allowed to dress down to that specific theme.
That is all the news I have to share with you all today, and since Thanksgiving break is coming, I wish all of you a great Thanksgiving.
Thank you. Dominic Lao, Chairman of Public Relations.
Sports News:
Our basketball teams are ready to go. All the teams will need solid black shorts for their uniforms. The boys A team and the girls team play their first game on December 1st. It is a home game with Auburn. Because it is a Thursday, the boys will play first. The first game begins at 3:30 with the second game to follow as soon as the first game is done.
The B team will be getting their schedule from Coach Stanton next week. He will be attending a special CYO meeting on Nov. 30th. We will have more specifics at that time.
Virtue of the month
November- Courtesy: being thoughtful of others.
Example: Holding doors open, allowing others to pass before you. Saying good morning, thank you or have a nice day first. Using good manners.
