WILDCAT NEWS
OAK HARBOR HIGH SCHOOL
A letter from our Principal
We are excited to be moving into the second half of the first trimester here at the high school. We feel like we are finding our groove. We love having all students here and together every day. Please assist us in making sure that unless your student is ill, that they are here with us in school attending classes.
We have laid the groundwork for our year with the CharacterStrong curriculum which is centered around the 8 essentials of Patience, Kindness, Humility, Respect, Selflessness, Forgiveness, Honesty, and Commitment. Now we are beginning to move into creating our high school and beyond plans in advisory. This will help prepare us for scheduling our classes for each student's future.
Oak Harbor High School is also hosting the AWSL (Association of Washington Student Leaders) Fall Leadership conference this Friday, Nov 5, 2021. This dynamic virtual conference for middle-level and high school students and advisors will feature Christian Page, Esteban Gast, Kim Karr, Work2BeWell, CDR Oswalt from NASWI, and many more. These guests and our student presenters from OHHS and other WA schools will all bring the conference to life through keynotes, breakouts, and workshops. The Fall Conference begins at 9:00 am and will conclude at 2:00 pm. This conference will be attended virtually by over 50 schools from all over the state of Washington. I want to give a big shout-out to Erica Schulle, our ASB advisor and all of her leadership students that are pulling this off. This is such a great experience and an honor to host.

This is a reminder that Oak Harbor High School is a closed campus. This means that students are not allowed to leave or come as they please (especially during student lunchtimes). This is to ensure the safety of our students and staff members. If a student needs to be dropped off or leave, a parent or guardian needs to call the attendance line or come into the front office to sign-in/out their student/child.
