Please join us to be informed about the latest DEC ICT news and Google Apps, new in our Learning Tools in the portal. Get ready to book a fabulous video conference from The Royal National Park and Electroboard. Learn about the new Prowise panel and the free software available from Prowise that is suitable for all IWBs.

Morning tea and lunch will be catered for so please indicate in special requirements if you do not require food or have any special dietary needs. Don't forget to click No fee when registering if you have paid your annual fees.

Engadine High School

Engadine High School, Porter Road, Engadine.

There is a grassed area next to the hall which can accommodate 25 or so cars. Access is via the gates on Birok Avenue off Porter Road (west of the main entrance to the school). Students will be on hand to direct cars and escort attendees to the library. Please DO NOT park in the staff car park at the rear of the library. Members please proceed directly to the library for sign in.

Engadine High School Library Showcase

Tracey Miller, TL at Engadine High School, will share her library refurbishment journey with us, focussing on what has worked particularly well. She will then show her library website and share the resources she has added to the website, including ebooks and the library Moodle. There will be time to explore her beautiful new library to see the finished product.

Royal National Park - what we can do for you

Julie Gallan, Principal Environmental Studies Centre, Royal National Park will talk to us about current resources including video conferences. She has also organised a book seller to bring relevant resources.

Electroboard - video conferences and resources

11.30am - 12.15pm

Lizzie Cooper, education consultant from Electroboard, will show us the Semester 1 video conference calendar and explain how to book these conferences so we can use our Connected Classrooms to greater advantage. She will also introduce their new website and walk us through it showing all the resources available.

Prowise

12.15pm - 1pm

Jon Dunk, Sydney Region education consultant from Electroboard, will demonstrate the new Prowise panel and its associated presenter software. The software is free and compatible with all boards and interactive projectors.

Google Apps and Collaboration in Education

Hands - on session

1.45 - 2.45pm

Lena Arena, Google guru, will demonstrate how Google Apps for Education (GAFE,) which has recently been added to the portal under Learning Tools, can be used in the classroom. We will use the EHS computers and your own devices in this hands-on session. She will also show us the Intel Teach Elements program - a series of free online professional development courses that provide deep exploration of 21st century learning concepts.
