Proposed Schedule January - August 2016

During the remainder of the 2015-2016 school year, RILINK will offer workshops on various topics at locations across the state. RILINK reserves the right to adjust this schedule throughout the year. Sites, dates, and times will be posted on the RILINK web site and announced on both the RILINK and SLRI lists.


PLEASE NOTE: Sessions with fewer than five RILINK member participants may be canceled.

Strengthening Patron Communication, Collaboration, and Research Skills Using Destiny Quest® @ Tiverton Middle School

This two-hour after school session will provide a hands-on experience using Destiny Quest from the student point of view. How students can improve their communication, collaboration, and research skills will be modeled.

Exploring Follett Lightbox™, Accessing eBooks, & More! @ Hugh Cole Elementary School

Explore Follett Lightbox™ with Anthony Ferranti and a RILINK member librarian currently using them. Lightbox™ incorporates audio, video, interactive activities and more, and titles are aligned with Common Core standards. Learn more about how to access eBooks and audiobooks on devices, with and without an app, and on the desktop. Review the process for adding/removing titles from our shared BookLynx collection to your library’s collection, and how to get statistics on eBook usage. Hear about eBook specials! If time permits, Titlewave updates and best practices will be shared as well.

LOOKING TO SHAKE UP YOUR PRESENTATIONS? This workshop will give librarians the opportunity to explore a few powerful presentation tools, empowering them to build upon their digital toolbox. Participants should bring their own device because there will be time to work individually and collaboratively to put the tools into action!
