Staff Spotlight!
This week we are highlighting both of our amazing Occupational Therapists, Mrs. Fisher and Mrs. Cachares! Occupational therapy focuses on both fine motor skills and gross motor skills. These ladies are always busy meeting with so many kids with all varying needs and wants. They work on handwriting, pencil grip, walking, jumping, and anything in between! Students love working with Mrs. Cachares and Mrs. Fisher, especially if they get to use the swing in the OT room. A swing, in school, amazing! These two are always quick to help both students and fellow staff member and are such an important part of the team here at Kolmar. Thanks for everything you do ladies!
Classroom Happenings!
Where to even start with Ms. Jean's class?! They have so many great things going on! In Reading they have been working hard on decoding words and working on reading fluency. They also are doing a great job using inferencing. Also in Language Arts they are reading and learning about mystery novels, how fun! In Math there is a lot happening! These scholars are working on place value to 1,000, all while also practicing telling time and using money. In Science they are learning all about animal habitats and adaptations. In Social Studies they are learning about different regions.

Illinois 5Essentials Survey
Students and teachers across Illinois now have the opportunity to participate in the ninth annual statewide Illinois 5Essentials Survey. This survey is designed to generate a detailed picture of the inner workings of your child’s school.
As a parent, this opportunity will allow you to share your thoughts on the important elements of school effectiveness. Additionally, your 4th-8th grade student will be asked about their experiences in school to help give school leaders critical student input and help develop future school improvement plans. If you would like to view the student survey questions or opt-out your student please complete the form found at:
d123.org/five. You and your student's identity and survey responses will be kept completely confidential and anonymous.
To get started with the survey head to d123.org/five. Kid's Heart Challenge
