West Weekly Update
Volume 12, Issue 21, 1/31/22
From the desk of Mr. Jolliffe
Staff – This weekend has been quiet on the COVID front and we currently only have two uncovered positions for Monday. Last Friday was rough as we had 30 staff out and 12 uncovered. If possible, please avoid the use of personnel leave on Fridays. Good news is our county COVID rate may have peaked, yet the positive rate is still around 22%. Like last week, we will need everyone on board and ready to cover classrooms and be instructionally flexible.
We also have an incoming winter storm and artic temperatures set to hit on Tuesday night and through Wednesday and Thursday. Please monitor the news and your email for updates.
To Do Task – Teachers please email your department chair a list of your students that have not shown up to your class this semester. Please do this by Tuesday at the end of the day. We will review this list and proceed accordingly.
Post your grades!!! We need grades posted for progress reports, tutoring and upcoming parent-teacher conferences. This feedback is crucial as we head down the home stretch towards graduation and the end of this semester.
Parent-Teacher Conference on Feb. 9th and 15th from 4-7pm will be offered by phone, text, email, virtual and in-person if needed. The intent is to get in contact with your AT students and discuss essential educational items such as grades, credits, attendance and behavior. Thanks for putting in this work!
Administration has conducted close to 200 walkthroughs through January. We are also conducting informal observations to provide feedback and meet our statutory guidelines. If you have questions about our feedback, we would love to talk to you about your instruction. Remember, we are looking for clear objectives, best-practice strategies, active engagement and teachers up and providing quality feedback.
Mask up, wash your hands and social distance.
Pioneers Lead the Way – Mr. Jolliffe

Student Council Elections
Monday, January 31st, teachers will give out the link for student voting during academy time. Students will only be able to vote for their own grade’s officers. A QR code will also be sent with the link if that helps teachers and students to have access to voting.
