Red Ribbon Week 10/28-11/1
Monday- “Turn Your Back on Drugs” (Wear your shirt backwards) – Students will receive a red backpack ribbon.
Tuesday- “Sock it to Drugs” (Wear crazy socks)
Wednesday- Wear RED day! Jimbo’s Naturally will provide red apples @ snack recess.
6th grade attends the San Dieguito Alliance Teen Panel Assembly 2:00-2:30pm in SP Theater
*Riley Homeroom has Lunch 'Out' @ the Highlands shopping center 12:15-1:00pm*
Thursday- Happy Halloween: Trick or Treat, Spooky or Sweet! Wear costume!
Students make a pledge to stay drug free.
Friday- “Friends Don’t Let Friends Bully!” Wear SP School Spirit Wear.
Saturday- SBSD STREAM Fest @ Solana Pacific 10am-2pm
Riley Lunch Out Reward: Wed. Oct. 30th
We're headed to the Del Mar Highlands for lunch 'out' since the class earned 99 points in Discovery Labs. Students may either bring their own lunch to eat with us, or bring cash to buy lunch. We'll order 'to go' and then eat together by the outdoor tables near Einstein Bagel/Panda Express. Permission slips were sent home in the first week of school, and I'll contact you if I haven't yet received one back.
Please join us if you're free! 12:15-1:00 pm
We'll meet by our classroom at 12:10. I'd love to have 3 or more parent chaperones.
Halloween Thurs. 10/31Students MAY wear Halloween costumes to school. We will be participating in a Halloween parade on the playground, 8:40-9:00am. Riley Class Party: Room 108, 1:30-2:30pm Costumes must be appropriate for the school setting and follow our general school dress code policy. All students should wear school appropriate shoes. Since 1950, kids have been going door-to-door on Halloween with orange donation boxes. The money that is donated goes toward providing children around the world with clean water, nutrition, medicine, and educational resources. So far, more than $175 million have been collected through Trick-or-Treat for UNICEF! | Operation Gratitude 11/1-11/7Our student leadership council is sponsoring a service project called “Operation Gratitude”. Students can bring in their Halloween candy and/or a letter of gratitude to a soldier to donate to the troops. Operation Gratitude will make sure it gets to soldiers overseas. STREAM Fest is a free, outdoor event celebrating
everything STREAM (Science, Technology, Research,
Engineering, the Arts, and Math). This year’s theme is
ReYOUse, raising awareness around global and local
recycling and conservation efforts to help our planet.
STREAM Fest provides interactive STREAM stations,
hands-on exploration, and innovative engineering
challenges! Food and drinks will be on hand for purchase.
