Please join us for a seminar on 'Family Farming and Kitchen Gardening' on 30th January 2014 at Sanskruti Bhavan, Patto, Panaji, Goa from 2.30PM to 6:00 PM.
The seminar is organised by the trustees of ‘Anand Suman Charity Trust’, in memory of late Dr. Anand G. Naik Kurade - a pioneer in agriculture and food processing in Goa.
The seminar will discuss ideas and ways in which people with smaller patches of un-utilized lands and gardens can create a new ‘Green Culture’ in Goa - with fresher, healthier and organically grown food. Shri Claude Alvares, a prominent member of the Organic Farmers Association of India (OFAI) will deliver the keynote address.
Exhibits will include growing of various vegetable, fruits and flowers and a demonstration on hydroponics.
Sessions will include the following topics:
1. ‘Infrastructure for Cultivation’ - a talk by Shri S. S. Tendulkar, ex-Director, Dept. of Agriculture, Govt. of Goa
2. 'Floriculture' a presentation by Dr. Thangam from ICAR, Goa
3. 'Innovative ideas for Home and City Farming' by Karan Manral and Yogita Mehra
