State Send Off!

We're going to State!

Our OMEA State Competition Show will be performed on Saturday, October 29th at Hilliard Bradley High School located at 2800 Walker Rd, Hilliard, OH 43026

Uniform Report Time that day is 8:30 AM, and busses will depart from Steele at 9 AM. We will arrive at Hillard Bradley at noon, to prepare for our 2:30 PM performance. After the 3:30 PM awards, we will head to Easton Town Center for some free time and to give everyone an opportunity to purchase dinner. The expected arrival time back to Steele is 9 PM.

Students should bring a bag lunch and money for dinner at Easton Town Center. OMEA also typically offers commemorative T-shirt and Sweatshirt sales during the event that the students like to buy if you'd so wish to send money for that.

Anyone attending should dress for the weather, including jackets or hoodies for the band students. Hats, gloves, hand warmers, and blankets are all recommended.

Band Boosters will be accepting donations of bagged Halloween candy to pass out to the younger kids during the parade. If you would like to donate a bag, it can be turned in to Mrs. Sauer at any time. (such as during lunch or after practice)

Let's have fun and give back to the community that supports us!

Halloween Parade

The Halloween Parade is back! With big thanks to Studio Q and Kiedrowski's we are so excited to take part again! We haven't gotten to do this Parade since the current Seniors were Freshmen!

This parade takes place in the afternoon, while it is still light out. The band marches this parade in costume. In years past, the students would decide their costumes as a section. For example, this year the Cymbals chose Marvel, then each picked their own character.

Next up: November!

On to December!

Concert Ticket Sales

Heading into concert season, the Boosters are looking for 2-3 volunteers for at-the-door ticket sales. This includes concerts performed by all the grade levels involved in the band program. It is about 45-90 minutes each evening. Most of the concerts start at 7 PM, and you're welcome to stay for the remainder of the performance or head out.

Volunteer sign-ups will get posted soon for each event. You can always check for any available volunteer opportunities under the sign-up tab here:

50/50 at Ziggy's

On Sun. Dec. 18th the Band Boosters are participating in the 50/50 raffle that's held by the Browns Backers every game at Ziggy’s in Amherst. A portion of the net proceeds benefit local charities in and around our community. We earn funds by running the 50/50 during the first 2 quarters of the game.

We need 2-3 adult volunteers to sell the tickets. Supplies will be provided and we estimate about 1-1/2 hours per game. They will also announce that profits benefit the Amherst Marching Comets during the game to boost ticket sales.

Check for sign-ups on the band app soon!

If you aren't able to help sell tickets we invite you to stop in to support the local business and buy some raffle tickets for your chance to win.

Parade with Santa

The Holiday Parade through downtown Amherst is such a fun tradition! The Marching Band students have so much fun dressing up, adding lights and decorations to their instruments, and playing cheerful songs. The more lights and fun outfits the better! This parade does take place in the evening when it is dark outside.

Tell me those days again!
