The Passaic County School Business Administrators Visit NRESC!
Welcome Gregory Barrington-Smith!
Gregory Barrington-Smith is our new Accountant/Payroll Specialist, replacing Marco Loli who left the NRESC in February.
Greg has worked in payroll since 1999, starting at Paychex and branching out in the industry. Before coming to the NRESC, Greg spent over 6 years full time at Manchester Regional High School and Haledon Public Schools and learned a lot along the way. Greg moved to the United States in 1998 to marry his American fiancé after they met working at a Formula 1 auto race in 1997. He loves to ski and has taught children downhill and cross country skiing, most recently at High Point State Park where he is training to be a ski patroller.
Happy Administrative Professionals Day (April 26)!

Senator Corrado Visits Second Home!
In addition, the NRESC was happy to speak with Senator Corrado about the challenges of running a day habilitation center, such as funding for client transportation.
Lastly, with Second Home slated to move to its new location at 515 Union Boulevard in Totowa before the end of 2023, we were happy to also welcome Mark Monteyne, Totowa's Recreation Director. Our staff and Mark are already planning trips and events for when we officially move to Totowa!

Genesis is Coming!
How will this affect our staff?
- Frontline (AESOP) will remain the tool by which staff will input and review all entitlements.
- For staff observations, evaluations, SGOs, etc., Frontline's My Learning Plan will be replaced by Genesis, effective for this upcoming school year.
- All financial and human resources aspects of the NRESC (which are now housed in CSI) will shift to Genesis by January 1, 2024.
Training Opportunities
- During the summer of 2023, up to 25 certificated staff members will have the opportunity to attend a virtual orientation session on the Genesis observation and evaluation tool. Staff in attendance will be paid for their time, as we hope that these individuals will be able to provide support to other staff members as the school year progresses. In addition to the summer training option and colleagues turnkeying this information, time will be spent at the yearly staff orientation in September reviewing the new tool.
Check out our School/Program Monthly Updates for April!
Observation & Evaluation Updates
- All certificated staff will receive their summative evaluations by April 28 (non-tenured) OR May 12 (tenured).
- All non-certificated staff and individuals being evaluated outside of TEACHNJ/ACHIEVENJ will receive their summative evaluations by May 31.
