HES musical shining star have been studying the elements of music. Rhythm provides the styles and grooves in music. To distinguish between beat and rhythm, Quaver takes a journey into the head of a drummer to find his main beat.

Learning Goal:

What are we going to learn? This week's element of music we will focus on rhythm.

Students will learn:

• To differentiate between the main beat and rhythm.

• To recognize how rhythm is the foundation of all musical styles.

Hopkins Elementary students will demonstrate the HES Learning Dispositions by working performance skills which include dance movement, singing and instrumental performance. The performance practice and video recording in this week’s music assignments will show each student’s engagement, critical thinking, collaboration, and determination in video clips that will be presented in our first HES Talent Show.
