Math

7th Grade Math: We will continue Unit 5: Geometry. Our focus will be 3D Figures, Volume, and Surface Area. The Unit Test will be on Friday, February 26th. It will cover angles, perimeter, circumference, area, volume, surface area, and 3D figures (cross-sections and nets). This is a BIG unit so we are providing a study guide for the students to complete over the winter break. This is mandatory and is due Monday, February 22nd.

Accelerated Math: We will begin Unit 8: Functions. Also, we are providing a study guide for the benchmark. We are beginning it in class, and asking students to complete it over the winter break in order to prepare them for the benchmark which will cover the entire 7th grade curriculum and much of the 8th grade material. The 8th grade material includes transformations, exponents, scientific notation, roots and irrational numbers, geometric applications of exponents, and linear functions.

Science

Duncan: We will continue our unit on the interdependence of organisms after the break.

Larson/Cochran: We will begin our unit on Ecology. Please check your child's agenda for assignment or quiz dates.

Webster: We are finishing up natural selection and the fossil record and will move on to the interdependence of living things.

Social Studies

Social studies classes will be completing our unit on Southern and Eastern Asia by focusing on economics and government.
