Sherwood Updates
We have certainly SOARED into iREAD this week! We had a BLAST dressing up in our space themed gear on Monday. Our rocket ships are in orbit and we expect a tremendous showing from our Sherwood pandas this year!
Keeping encouraging your students to gravitate toward a book to read independently, listen to an audio book, read to a stuffed animal or family member, and record those minutes!
Let's show our Highland Park community that our reading skills are out-of-this-world!

Spotlight on Service
Great communities are created by people who give where they live or work - lifting each other up and caring for each other with acts big and small.
For 30 years, the Highland Park Community Foundation has supported and celebrated the many great nonprofit organizations that serve the Highland Park-Highwood community by addressing residents’ needs. To help us celebrate our 30th anniversary, we want to spotlight our community members of all ages, businesses, school staff, and city employees who "give where they live" by promoting kindness and answering Dr. Martin Luther King's call for service.
Your service to others helps ensure a healthy, vibrant, and equitable Highland Park and Highwood. If you have completed a service project or have done something to help someone that you are proud of, we would love to know about it!
Between January 14th and January 31st please share a high-resolution photo of your service project – or act of kindness – and describe it in 30 words or less. A photo taken with a smartphone should suffice.
We will spotlight your service on our social media sites, website, and other communications!
Help celebrate our community’s contributions to one another. Please complete the form HERE and upload your photos today! You may also access the form by using the QR code provided.
If you are unable to access the form or have any questions, please let us know by emailing Terri Olian, Highland Park Community Foundation Executive Director, at terri@hpcfil.org.
Thank you for your service and for helping to make Highland Park-Highwood a great community!
