Book Character Dress Up Day
In honor of Book Fair Week, FSA students are invited to dress up as their favorite book character on Friday, November 10. Here are a few guidelines for costumes:
1. Must be a character from a book, not just any costume.
2. Scary monsters or beasts are not permitted
3. No masks are to be worn. Minimal face painting is allowed (e.g, whiskers, nose, freckles, etc., but no full-face makeup)
4. No weapons or props of any kind, including toys.
5. Elementary students must have their character approved by their homeroom teacher
The three classes with the best costumes will win a surprise!! :)
Talent Show!
Exciting times! Our Annual Talent Show for this year will be on Friday, November 10 (this is a new date!) at two different times as follows:
Elementary Talent Show (Pre-K through 5th Grade) – 8 am to 10 am.
Middle & High School Talent Show – 1:30 pm to 3:30 pm.

A Peek at Next Week......
Homework Packets come home today. There is no spelling this week. A copy can be found under your child's Math course on FSA Connect!
Here's what's coming up next week in 2nd grade...
Reading: We have started learning about Author's Purpose and how to identify the Author's Purpose when reading a text. We have discussed persuade, inform, and entertain. Next week... we will add explain and describe! We will work on this skill for the next few weeks. Students should be able to determine and explain the author's reason for writing a story, as well as create writing of their own that matches these different categories.
ELA: Focusing on adjectives and adverbs. Students will be practicing identifying both, as well as distinguishing between the two or when to use one and not the other.
Social Studies: We are beginning our new unit about Georgia's First People (Creek and Cherokee).
Science: We are finishing up our Forces of Motion unit. Students will test over this unit on Friday, November 10.
Math:
Ms. P's Math: Focusing on multiplication word problems and double/triple digit by single digit multiplication. Strategies quiz is on MONDAY. Practice those multiplication facts AT HOME!
Ms. Bentley's Math: Bar Models Test on MONDAY! Beginning multiplication with repeated addition and equal groups.
Ms. Minor's Math: Focusing on multiplication word problems and double/triple digit by single digit multiplication. KEEP PRACTICING MULTIPLICATION FACTS AT HOME!
Home Visit Program
Home visits are a casual way for your child to spend time with his/her teacher in the comfort of their home. Teachers enjoy having a chance to see children in this comfortable environment, doing whatever makes them most happy and spend time with children and their parents outside of a regular school day.
Simply email junal@fultonscienceacademy.org with some suggested dates/times, as well as your students' name(s) and homeroom assignments. Ms. Unal will be in touch to confirm final details.
Please note: the best times to schedule a home visit are weekdays after 5:00pm.
