This Week at Remynse...
April 4-8
April is here!
I want us to keep the momentum going these next eight weeks. We are in the last innings of this 2015-2016 school year. Make every moment count with your students. Since this is the one month where we do not have a day off , it makes April seem especially long. I know we are all tired, but I know we can make these last two months amazing for our students. Hang in there. We can do this!!

Absence Reporting
1. If you know you are going to be out (pre-planned absence), it is your responsibility to find a substitute for this day. Do not leave it up to the sub system to find someone to cover your class. Once you find a sub for your absence, be sure to include the sub number on your absence request. Ms. Adams and I will not be approving pre-planned absences until a sub has been secured and on your request paperwork.
2. Be sure you are filling out absence and leave early requests at least three days prior to an absence. We will be checking to see if this paperwork is in. This helps us to plan in case of a sub shortage.
3. If you are sick or have a sick child, please attempt to put in your absence the night before. It is easier for us to cancel a sub job in the AM. Also, if you wake up sick, please attempt to call in your absence by 6:00 am. This helps increase the chances of finding a sub.
4. Be sure you have detailed lesson plans and work ready for a sub if you plan to be out. It is not okay to depend on your team to get everything ready for you if this is an absence you have been aware of for days.
5. Be sure you have an emergency sub folder prepared. This work should include a detailed lesson plan with at least two days worth of work. You need to also include a daily schedule and any important information a sub would need to get through the school day. This was in our BOY teacher handbook and is an expectation on campus. We will be checking these folders on Friday to see that each classroom has their sub folder ready with plenty of work copies in the folder.
I want to remind you that we work as a team to help when someone is out, but you should make every possible attempt to take care of these details prior to an absence. When our team is having to take care of these details, they are having to leave their classrooms and it is taking from their instructional time.
