Testing Practice- We will soon begin testing format practice in class. The purpose is to familiar students with how the test will look and how to input responses. If you would like to see this practice sit, you may click on the link and have your child try some problems out.

https://practice.smarterbalanced.org/student/. Once you click on the link, simply login as a guest and follow the prompts, choosing grade 4. Eventually a screen will appear that will allow you to choose a math or language arts practice test. We test during the first week of June.

We are reading, By the Great Horn Spoon! It is quite the adventure. It ties perfectly into our Social Studies unit on Gold Rush. We will read about, discuss, and respond to many elements of this historical fiction novel by Sid Fleischmann.

Ask your child to tell you how Captain Swain beat The Sea Raven to California.

Character Can Book Report

Students read a Newberry Award Winning book, create a character can, and present a summary to the class. Detailed information is on Edmodo. It is due on Tuesday, May 24.

Students will have time in class to write the written portion next week.

Science: Electricity and Magnetism

Students will learn about electricity and magnetism over the next few weeks. They will conduct experiments in Science Lab.

Field Trip to the Vista Court House

Monday, May 23 is our day to reenact a mock trial. Students have designated roles and are practicing their parts. Students are learning about the justice system.

We are in need of drivers. Please consider joining us.
