If you have completed the CS Fundamentals INTRO workshop here in Aldine or elsewhere, this is the part 2 to this workshop.
6th grade CS teachers, please attend this session-- if you have attended the INTRO in August of 2019. I (S. Glass) will be the facilitator of this session. All Aldine employees will receive INVEST hours for their attendance to this workshop.

Summer PD Opportunities
Have you heard of C-STEM??
CSTaR is a 3-day summer professional development workshop for Greater Houston Area teachers of all subjects and grade levels. Greater Houston Area teachers of all subjects and grade levels that have in interest in teaching computer science (CS) or learning the fundamentals of CS courses are welcome to apply.
The program will introduce coding concepts and processes such as binary language, algorithms, and data types. Teachers will also explore the core of technology applications by delving into hardware/software issues, applications, instructional considerations. These fundamentals will allow participants to explore various CS applications and participate in team challenges that call for microprocessor programming and sorting algorithms.
The ultimate goal of the program is to expand the pipeline of teachers qualified to provide high-impact instruction in CS courses by supporting the development of content knowledge and stimulating the desire the teach such courses.

The district won't be able to pay for your attendance, however, there are scholarships available for teachers. Lodging is discounted.
