World Read Aloud Day
Classes listened to their teachers read a variety of books in celebration of World Read Aloud Day. Some classes joined special virtual read alouds by popular authors including Lucille Colandro, author of the "There was an Old Lady" series and Carman Agra Deedy, author of "The Rooster who Would Not be Quiet". Even Ms. Paparsenos and Mrs. Dettelbach joined in on the fun as they visited classes to share their favorite read alouds.
MLK Shares the Love on Valentines Day
Nick Bruel visits MLK
Nick Bruel, author of the Bad Kitty Series, visited MLK this month. He shared his journey to becoming an author, his writing process, and even gave a drawing lesson to our students. In return, students re-created a cover for their favorite Nick Bruel book to share.
MLK "Pay it Forward" 500 Heart Challenge
It's a success! In honor of Martin Luther King, MLK students added add some "heart" to our MLK walls with the Pay It Forward 500 Heart Challenge. Each time a child does an act of kindness, they illustrated or wrote about it on a heart to display on our wall. Our school totaled ____ acts of kindness.
We LOVE MLK!
In honor of the upcoming 100th day of school and Valentines Day, MLK students shared the love! As a class, students came with 3 reasons they love MLK to display in main hallway. This is only a small sample of all the reasons because we know there are more than 100 reasons to love MLK! Thank you for coordinating this awesome idea and bulletin board Mrs. Yanuzzi & Mrs. Cairoli!
