2023-2024 Registration
Registration for our 2023-2024 classes has begun! Academic teachers make the recommendations for the student's next course; please talk to your child and teacher if you have questions. Students have the opportunity to select their own electives. Elective selection will be January 18th-22nd, 2023. Students will register through their eCLASS page. I encourage you to talk to them about their elective choices, as the master schedule is built off of what they tell us they want and it is very difficult to make changes afterwards so there are so few open seats. All information needed can be found on their eCLASS page. Thank you!
Transcripts and Final Grades
Grades for GCPS Semester 1/Quarter 2 have been finalized and transcripts are being mailed by GCPS. Transcripts can also be viewed in the Parent Portal under the documents tab. Grades are also available in ParentVUE and StudentVUE. You may need to toggle your Parent Portal Gradebook to see your student's Q2/S1 grades.

Vaccine Clinics
GCPS has partnered with GNR Public Health to offer required vaccinations for students attending 7th and 11th grade. Through this partnership, students can receive Tdap (tetanus, diphtheria and pertussis vaccine) and MCV4 (adolescent meningococcal vaccine). In addition to these required vaccinations, GNR will have limited supplies of flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccines.
Effective July 1, 2021, children 16 years of age and older, who are entering the 11th grade (including new entrants), must have received one booster dose of the meningococcal conjugate vaccine (MCV4), unless their initial dose was administered on or after their 16th birthday. This MCV4 booster is required in addition to the booster required for 7th grade. It is important to note that the vaccine is only required for students who are at least 16 years of age AND attending 11th grade.
Families will need to provide proof of insurance for Tdap, MCV4 and flu vaccines. Students 18 years of age and younger who do not have health insurance will be eligible for vaccines at no charge through our mobile clinics under the Vaccines for Children program. COVID-19 vaccinations are available regardless of insurance status.

Word of the Month: Ransomware
Ransomware is a type of malware cyber-criminals use to infect computers and encrypt computer files until a ransom is paid. After the initial infection, ransomware will attempt to spread to connected systems, including shared storage drives and other accessible computers.
If a cyber-criminal's ransom demands are not met, the files or encrypted data will usually remain encrypted and unavailable to the victim. Even after a ransom has been paid to unlock encrypted files, cyber-criminals will sometimes demand additional payments, delete a victim's data, refuse to decrypt the data, or decline to provide a working decryption key to restore the victim's access.
