Rocket Review for FVES Families
Bi-Monthly Parent Newsletter, December 1, 2023
School Updates and Reminders
It's December! Time is flying. You should see your child's interim report this coming week which marks the midpoint of the second quarter. Thank you for reading the information below and more importantly, thank you for being a part of our school family. There are two opportunities in this newsletter to be helpful! We are in need of some pants (new or used) and in need of families willing to share about their culture! Both opportunities are optional but a great way to support our school!
- December 6: Picture Make-up day
- December 11-15: School Book Fair
- December 14: 5:00-7:00 PM Moonlight Reading
- December 13: PTA meeting @3:00 PM in School Cafeteria
- December 18: PTA sponsored Staff Luncheon
- December 21- January 2: Winter Break (No School)
- March 7: Annual Cultures of Kindness Night
Reminder: If your child has a Dr. Appt that causes a Tardy or absence, please bring the Dr. note to school so it can be excused.
Wishing You Well,
Heather Johnson
Principal

I have been advocating for a long time for our facilities and am THRILLED to have good news to share. I have not heard an exact date for when we will move during the 2024-2025 school year, however, we will return home for the entire 2025-2026 school year. From Coach Armstrong:
This year I will be introducing Healthy Habit Activity Calendars each month. I want our students to be able to “Live Every Adventure” and get the most out of life. This requires a solid foundation based on good health/fitness. They also need to have confidence & competence in a variety of physical skills in order to participate in active pursuits. (Physical Literacy). The monthly Healthy Habits Activity Calendars provide students opportunities to build healthy habits at home. There will be a new calendar posted within this shared google folder at the start of each month. Print out and check off and/or circle depending on the instructions per calendar the days as you complete them & return the calendar on the first of the month.

Arrival/ Dismissal Procedures
Carpool students are to be dropped off between 8:45 AM and 9:15 AM and be picked up from 3:45-4:05 PM in the carpool lane. Each carpool student will receive a carpool decal to hang in their car and students will have an assigned carpool number. Please assist your child in learning their carpool number. We ask that drivers adhere to our safety procedures, which include moving in a single file through the carpool lane (not in the bus lane) and parking only in the designated parking lots when needed. Please refrain from using your cellphone and from using all tobacco products while driving through the carpool lane and while on campus in the car. Please do not turn left. There is only one lane to turn out and a line of sight is not visible when turning left. This is extremely dangerous and holds up the line. Please do not park in the handicapped parking spots unless you have a handicapped parking decal. It is also very important not to send students unaccompanied through any carpool or parking lots on campus. Our safety procedures and policies will be strongly enforced to ensure that our students and staff can enter and exit the building without risk of injury. Check out our map below for entry/exit points and traffic flow directions.
